Synopsis
This timely film documents the last hundred years of hate in the US, starting from the rise of fascism during the 1920s; the interconnection between fascism in the US and Germany which led to the Holocaust straight through to the white supremacist marches in Charlottesville. The film also explores the Russian government’s support of far right groups both in the US and Europe.
The hopeful message that a historical pattern of great progress is met by a fierce backlash that ultimately results in a more progressive future is examined and used as motivation for positive action. Interwoven within this backdrop is the story of former white supremacist leader who now combats hate, featured on 60 Minutes, CBS News, CNN and MSNBC.
